KOUTOUBIA MOSQUE
We're back to where this trip started last week. We took the Supratours bus from Essaouira this afternoon, arriving in Marrakech early evening. From the mountains to the desert to the sea, we've seen bits of Morocco and it looked like we've been on the road for so long. Our
group came from different countries but all have the same adventurous frame of mind - Kathy, Katrina, Joshua, Tanya, Sarah, Leanne, Mangaia, Clemens, Lazarus, Mel and yours truly. Thanks to Steve - our tour leader - he really made sure the trip ran smoothly.

We planned to join the group for dinner at
Djamaa El Fna but somehow, we missed them in front of the Koutoubia Mosque where we're supposed to meet. Sayeed, Mel's Moroccan friend, ended up joining us and hungry as we've become, we settled for a table at nearby Portofino, an Italian restaurant. I guess I'm having
Tajine fatigue to finally eat pasta. Back at the hotel, I find the group at the lobby getting ready for a post-prandial night out at the bar we went into last week - I forgot the name but it's next to Mama Afrika. I declined this time since Mel and I have a very early departure tomorrow for Casablanca. So,
Maasalama and
Au revoir to my fellow adventurers.
Very impressive, Dennis!
ReplyDeleteI did "Best of Morocco North and South" and am working on a DVD multimedia production with a videographer friend at WHDH TV in Boston.
Will send you a pointer when ready - have a neat pic of you atop your camel... As I recall, you had some problems with that animal but eventually tamed it.
Really enjoyed making your acquaintance and hope we might meet again some day, perhaps on one of Steveo's trips...
Hey Dennis, this is an excellent blog....nice to have met you on the trip. Hope you are keeping well!
