Christmas is just around the corner, and once more, I'm daydreaming amidst the arctic chill of New York and the lifeless greetings of a Happy Holidays (Happy what?). I'm daydreaming that I'll be in the much familiar confines of the tropical Philippines where neighborhood kids with runny noses carol off-key, where almost everyone goes to church for Simbang Gabi, where the radios blare Christmas songs so loudly, where there's so much food in the fridge at home even after New Year's Day, where everyone greets each other a Merry Christmas actually, where even those living with whatever little they have seem genuinely happy. That's where I want to be...that's where I'd rather be... this Christmas.
